Russian Soviet Collection of period Pins and Money

Russian Soviet Collection of period Pins and Money

This is a fascinating grouping of five authentic Soviet-era collectibles, including four enamel pins and one piece of Soviet currency. These items date from the height of the USSR and offer a window into the civic pride, commemorative traditions, and visual culture of the period.

Included is an original USSR 10 Ruble banknote from 1961, featuring a portrait of Vladimir Lenin, one of the most recognizable designs of Soviet currency, still popular among collectors of Cold War-era ephemera.

Also featured are three vibrant USSR city crest enamel lapel pins, each highlighting the heraldry of historic Russian cities:

  • Yaroslavl (red background, white bear with axe), marked “Ц20k” on the reverse.

  • Tikhvin (green background, golden stag), marked “Ц25k” on reverse.

  • Novgorod – 859 (red background with two bears flanking fish), also marked “25k”, likely indicating a 25th anniversary production.

Accompanying these is a bold black-and-gold circular CMP pinback badge of unknown origin. It may represent a Soviet industrial, military, or organizational affiliation, with a stylized design evocative of mid-20th-century emblems.

Specifications:

  • Items: 4 Pins; Bank note
  • Origin: U.S.S.R.
  • Period: Cold War Era

Condition:

Good – Noticeable wear from age and use but remains structurally sound. Considered average condition for most collectibles and memorabilia. Minor imperfections or signs of handling may be present but do not detract from the overall integrity of the item.
